These courses are open to students of all NYU and non-NYU schools. Currently enrolled college students must be in good academic and disciplinary standing. See Gallatin’s travel course page for details on Summer 2016 travel courses.
Programs fill on a rolling basis and may fill without notice. Students are encouraged to apply early, and only completed applications are reviewed.
Admission decisions are based on strength of academic performance, personal statement, and space remaining in the program.
This online application cannot be saved in-progress. It is therefore recommended that you type and save your responses in a document on your computer before completing this form.
Important Note: if you have equal interest in more than one program, DO NOT check this box; you should instead submit a separate application for each program.
Current Gallatin students only: please select your primary academic (faculty) adviser below. Gallatin will forward a copy of this application to your adviser in lieu of the Plan of Study for the summer term.
(Start typing the name, then choose from the list.)
Please provide contact information for a faculty member or a primary academic adviser who can speak to your academic standing and ability to study away in an intensive course.
For current Gallatin students and incoming Gallatin transfer students: to be considered for this scholarship (Gallatin January Term and Summer travel courses only), you must meet the following criteria:
Priority Deadline for Summer Travel Courses: February 1
The amount awarded is typically equivalent to full course tuition. Scholarships are awarded based on the availability of funds. Applicants may investigate additional funding options but because summer aid for study away tends to be limited, awardees should anticipate covering the remaining costs of the program without additional aid. Final scholarship decisions will be made in February. Students who disqualify may receive earlier notification.
IMPORTANT NOTE : Applicants may be admitted to the travel course before receiving scholarship notification. Such students may hold off on submitting a program confirmation until after receiving scholarship notification. Applicants who believe they can cover the full program cost by other means are encouraged to submit a program confirmation earlier in case the course fills, as only a few slots will be held in each course for Dean’s Scholarship awardees. However, if applicants confirm before scholarship notification, their Dean’s Scholarship application will be automatically withdrawn and they will no longer be considered for scholarship.
