Harmeet Neetu Sidhu

Harmeet Neetu Sidhu earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree at the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada. During her undergraduate years, she also studied at the Cophenhagen Business School in Denmark, which she describes as “an amazing experience, both personally and professionally.” When she began looking at graduate schools, she says, “Gallatin was the only school that offered me the flexibility to combine my diverse interests in social entrepreneurship, marketing, sociology, economic development and fashion and pursue a serious two-year master’s program. It’s been the best mix of passion, academic rigor and interdisciplinary learning.” Sidhu’s concentration is social entrepreneurship within the fashion industry and how to employ fashion as a tool for social change – in particular, by connecting impoverished rural artisan women in India with female consumers in North America. She is in the process of launching a pilot collection, REVIVAL Style, which she is starting with fellow NYU graduate student Allison Taylor: www.shoprevivalstyle.com. Several designs from their line were included in Sexposed: The Gallatin Fashion Show in the winter of 2012.
