The Trial

Man in bowler facing brick wall.Beginning November 5 at 8pm, NYU's Gallatin School of Individualized Study will present a production of Franz Kafka's The Trial, directed by Gallatin professor, Kristin Horton. Steven Berkoff's stage adaptation of Kafka's novel tells the story of Joseph K who, on the morning of his thirtieth birthday, finds himself under arrest for an unknown crime. Joseph K races to determine what he is guilty of and gets lost in a world of maddening bureaucracy, indecipherable law, and unintelligible answers.

This production of The Trial features a collaboration of Gallatin undergraduate and graduate students, Gallatin alumni, professors and professional designers. The Trial will run from November 5-8, 2009 in Gallatin's Jerry H. Labowitz Theatre for the Performing Arts (715 Broadway) for four performances only. The dates and times of the performances are as follows:

  • Thursday, November 5 at 7pm
  • Friday, November 6 at 7pm
  • Saturday, November 7 at 7pm
  • Sunday, November 8 at 2pm
